2008 Lifetime Achievement Award
 Erick Wujcik, creator of the RPG Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Other Strangeness in 1985 and of Amber Diceless Roleplaying in 1991 was honored at an event hosted by his long-time associates at Palladium Books in Southfield, Michigan January 25th. Both games were not only highly original and popular games in their day but, more importantly, exerted a profound long-term influence on the development of the hobby that is still being felt to the present day. Since 1985, he has produced an additional two dozen RPG publications both to fill out the Amber and TMNT corpora and to enrich other game systems and settings. "As nice as it is to get this kind of award at a convention, I think it was so much more meaningful to have received it in the presence of 150 friends and loved ones," said Kevin Siembieda of Palladium Books and longtime friend of Erick's who presented the award on behalf of the ENnies. "Everyone in attendance rose to their feet and gave Erick a standing ovation. It was awesome." Because he is currently facing some very serious health challenges, the ENnies wished to counted as standing in solidarity with Erick’s friends, family and fans. “It is not just a matter of thanking Erick for his contribution. We are giving this award now as a way of offering him some small amount of inspiration in his struggle; as fans influenced by his work, we feel it is some small recompense for all the inspiration he has provided us at our gaming tables,” stated Russell Morrissey, founder and president of the ENnies board.
